Boosting ticket sales for a bold new conference
CommsRebel, an internal communications and employee experience agency, wanted help promoting its bold new conference. I crafted content for their newsletters, blogs and website to drive ticket sales and create an engaged community.
THE BRIEF: CommsRebel wanted copywriting and PR support to drive ticket sales for its bold new conference. The event was designed to be unconventional, so the content strategy had to reflect this, engage the audience, and make them feel part of a community before the event.
WORKING TOGETHER: I began by spending time with CommsRebel’s founder, Advita Patel, to understand her vision for the event and what she wanted to achieve. From the outset, it was clear that this conference differed from other events and that the content had to align. After clarifying the purpose and goals, I created a plan to share regular content, including channels and timing.
I drafted all the content across several channels, including a fortnightly email, website, and blog. The language focused on being a rebel, which helped create a sense of energy and excitement. It was important that the audience felt like they were part of something special, a community of like-minded individuals who were rebelling against the norm.
THE RESULT: The event was sold out two years in a row! It was an incredible event to be part of and the event marketing helped to create an engaged audience, which has since grown into a thriving community.
